to a mobile phone ringing, the rule reads "10.7. It is strictly forbidden to bring a mobile phone,

the playing venue during play, that player shall lose the game according the Laws of Chess"
yours truly felt guilty about Profiting from the rule, maybe they should change the rule to read
"Your opponent can claim the win if he wishes" im sure the vast majority of games especially at

30/04/09. Fenton complete the double (Division 4 winners) by winning the final of the U101 Withnall Cup tonight, im told the night
was tense for most of the players involved as the result was very close,
board 1 winner Steve Emmerton has added an excellent report on his
Stuart Hull and Peter Tideswell also scored excellent victories to seal the match, Congratulation to all those that took part in this competition which we last won 2 years ago
without playing in the final due to our opponents withdrawing. We would also like to thank Stafford Chess Club for the use of their venue.

the Semi final of the U110 Cup, they didn't have it all their own way though,

Newcastle Chess club gave members an impressive display of his chess skills tonight
in a simultaneous chess exhibition winning all 7 boards, players that took part were-
John Amison, Danny Griffiths, Mark Whitby, Geoff Yates, Stuart Hull, Joe Orsolics and Phil Grocott.
We even tried plying him with beverages and sandwiches in the hope of distracting him enough for
at least one win, Geoff proved to be the most resourceful and was last to finish lasting over 2 hours.

11/07/08. The League AGM took place last night, the main points being-
(1) The experimental system as played in the league during 2006/07 & 2007/2008 was made permanent.
(2) A fifth division for teams of four with a maximum total grade of 280 was introduced.
(3) An Open division to be added to the Rapidplay League which will again be played at the end of the League Season.
Fenton have entered teams in the following divisions, click the links to view all the teams that entered at the AGM last night,
teams could be added or withdrawn before the new Season begins.

The Rapidplay league will be played in the summer of 2009 as yet no teams have entered.

unfortunately all the points went South.
