Fenton Chess Club 2006 AGM Minutes.

These being present on 06/06/06; -

Peter Tideswell, Stuart Hull, Carl Mustafa, John Amison, Jim Reader,
Andy Stott, Mark Whitby, Steve Heath, Geoff Yates, Danny Griffiths,
Roy Hammersley, Ben Zitha, Michael Williams, Gabrielle Williams
and Martyn Harris from Newcastle Chess Club.

Meeting started at: -7.44.

2006 Secretary's report was given to each member.

Awards.

Player of the year:- Peter Tideswell.

Outstanding Achievement:- Gabrielle Williams.

100 appearances for the club:- Geoff Yates.

2006 Club Championship.

The official tournament guide was handed out to each player, The guide explains all about the 2006 Inhouse tournament(Swiss), previous winners and results plus Competition rules and the Schedule.

Election of officials.

Secretary:- Peter Tideswell.

Treasurer:- Peter Tideswell.

Webmaster:- John Amison.

League and Team Captains will be decided after the league AGM.

Nomination of team entries for next season.

Fenton will enter the following Cup competitions-
U110 Cup, U135 Cup,
Withnall Trophy (100 or under)
Jackson Trophy (120 or under)
Gothard Trophy (150 or under)

The Composition of the teams will be decided after the league AGM.

Club Fees 2006/07.

Fees for next season will be £10 (Employed) and £5 (Unemployed, juniors, students and retired)

Restructuring of North Staffs League.

Discussion of possible restructuring of league, Martyn Harris explained how his Proposal for a new system would work, more details on his website..

Proposals.

(1) That the club hold at least one "all members meeting" during the season (possibly around Dec/Jan) to discuss how the season is progressing or for members to address any concerns which may have arisen.

(2) That for next year the method of deiding the player of the year be changed to reflect a players peformance over the season and the current format be used for an "Individual performance of the season" award.
