2008 Secretary's Report.

This year has been a bit of a funny one and possibly not the best in the club's history, and for that i must take the blame. It has been a year of transition and i haven't done as well as i could have done. Peter Tideswell lead the club through some vey successful seasons and has been the heartbeat of the club. It was up to me to take the club forward, and i was unable to do this well enough. It has been a learning curve, and i have learnt a lot from this, However, the club has finished the season pretty strongely and is now looking in good shape for next season. The venue has been the biggest problem, and it became apparent that the Pool Dole was not suitable when it opened at bad times for us. Often we were left sitting around. I think the atmosphere put people off. The church was a decent sized venue but again it wasn't the best atmosphere and it didn't do much good. However, now we are back at the New Penny, to many our spiritual home, things seem to have picked up and we are looking in good shape.

I won't thank anyone individually because everyone has been so superb this season in heping the club get through the season. We have three fantastic captains in John, Stuart and Carl, who have all contributed to the success of the teams. It's no surprise that we won the U110 cup with the players we have, and everyone should be proud of their achievements. Hopefully next season we will be able to entice some of our missing players back, as well as strengthen our side with new players coming through. We are also looking at having a team back in Division 2 again, so meaning we won't have any cross over problems.

There will be a lot of improvements from my side next season if i am re-elected. Hopefully the items on the agenda will show my commitments to the club. It is a fantastic club with a great atmosphere and i want to do all i possibly can to improve that and take it onto greater heights. However, its the players that do that and not just those in charge, so i will be looking to get more publicity for the club to entice more players. I will also be looking to make the club more accountable, by finally having a bank account set up and someone to audit this. I also want to change the way the awards are done so that we don,t have a repeat of this season where the best performance of the season didn't win the Performance of the year award. I want to invite bigger players to the club as well and i will be looking to get that done for August when the Rapidplay season is over.

To finish, i want to thank everyone again for their support and hopefully we will see even better times again in 2008/09.

2008 Finances Report.

Current funds=£72.95p.

I would like to say a huge thanks to Carl Mustafa who stepped in at short notice with no tools to do the job and did a superb job in sorting out the club funds. He has started the wheels in motion to having a more open and transparent accounting system.

Next season i also want to introduce membership forms so we can keep better track of who has paid and who hasn't paid funds.
